$1 Million Hole in One Rules
1. The $1 Million Dollar Hole in One (contest) is open to non-professional golfers over 18 years of age only. Professional golfers are ineligible. A professional golfer is defined as (i) a member of any
current professional golf club or (ii) golf organization or having held a professional golf certificate thirty (30) days prior to the Contest, or (iii) any person acting as a golf pro and receiving compensation for being a golf professional in the teaching of other golfers or (iv) operating any type of golf organization.
2. Contestants must use golf balls provided by Randy’s Golf Center & Range. No other balls or other objects will not be allowed. The entry fee of $5 per 3 balls must be paid in advance by each Contestant.
3. Golf balls may be purchased using the entry form on the GolfBallDrop.com web site or at Randy’s Golf Center and Range (Graham, NC). Entry forms are also available at the Times-News (Burlington, NC). There is no restriction on the number of times you may attempt to qualify for the play-offs or the number of balls that may be purchased as long as the $5 is paid per 3 balls. Once
a Contestant qualifies for the play-offs per three balls purchased, the remaining balls in that three ball purchase are invalid. Constants would need to purchase more three ball chances to qualify again for additional shots in the play-off rounds. Check, cash and credit cards will be accepted as payment if the participant uses the entry form to enter. Contestants who enter at Randy’s Golf Center & Range may only pay by cash or check made payable to Alamance Citizens for Education.
4. Qualifying Rounds will take place beginning Sept 1, 2010 and continues each Wednesdays and Fridays from 5pm-7pm at Randy’s Golf Center & Range through 7:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2010. Each Contestant’s whose one ball qualifies inside the target zone per three balls around the pin at 150 yards during the Qualifying Rounds will qualify for the Play-offs on October 30 at Randy’s Golf
Center & Range. If a Constant hits the golf ball in the target hole in one shot (“hole in one”) during any qualifying round that person is not considered the $1 Million Hole in One winner, and no prize will be awarded.
5. Play-Off Round Constants forfeit their position if not present at the designated time and location on October 30, 2010 at 12:00 noon (a default time of exactly thirty (30) minutes will be allowed), or for any reason are unable to participate.
6. Play-Off Round Constants will be awarded one (1) shot each per pre-qualifying rules, to hit the ball inside the target zone around the pin at 150 yards. The competitive order shall be determined by the Tournament Steering Committee. Practice shots are not permitted during the Play-Off Rounds. A “shot” is defines as a “stroke” by the PGA Rules of Golf.
7. Play-Off Rounds will continue until one (1) person is determined the Finalist. If a Play-Off Round Constant makes hole in one during the Play-Off Rounds, it is not considered the $1 Million Hole in One winner and no prize will be awarded.
8. One (1) Finalist will have one (1) shot to make the $1 Million Hole in One. A practice shot is not permitted.
9. The prize money of $1 Million will be paid only if the Finalist makes the hole in one in (1) shot from the designated starting point, 150 yards from the Target Hole. If the prize money is awarded, the Finalist is responsible for all taxes.
10. Hole-In-One International is responsible for the payment of the Hole In One prize money. The prize money will be paid to the winning Contestant (if any) over a period of 20 years. All Contestants must have signed an Official Application Form and Release to be eligible to receive the $1,000,000 prize.
11. Contest Officials will be on duty at all times during the Contest and their discretionary decision in all matters is final.
12. Only designated Contest Officials shall exercise the right to question eligibility of any participant. Eligibility may be revoked at the sole discretion of the Contest Officials based on such considerations as extreme or unusual conduct, or on the basis of the use of unfair, unrecognized, or illegal golfing apparatus or equipment. Contest Officials may stop play at any time and reserve the right to require Contestants to accelerate play or to cease an activity determined by Officials to be unsafe, objectionable, or unfair. Permission to participate in the contest may be revoked at any time.
13. Contest Officials will observe the green area throughout the contest. The Officials will periodically stop play to clear balls from the target area or when a shot falls within a circle centered on the pin.
14. Only clear shots to the target area for Qualifying, Playoff and Final rounds are allowed. Only Contest Officials may disqualify a ball. The decision of the Contest Officials is final.
15. The Contestant understands that his or her entry into the contest constitutes permission to use his or her name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without any additional compensation. The Contestant is aware that participation in this event may have a bearing on his or her status. The Contestant is solely responsible for making determinations as to the consequences of participating in this event.
16. Those persons participating in the $1 Million Dollar Hole in One do so at their own risk. Alamance Citizens for Education, the Times-News, Newspaper in Education and Randy’s Golf Center & Range and other sponsors assume no responsibility for personal injury, loss or damage to personal, private or other property and equipment claimed lost or damaged which Contestants or their guests may sustain. Each contestant releases, discharges, indemnifies, and holds harmless ACE, Times-News, Randy’s Golf Center and Range, sponsors and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, loss, harm, injury, damage, cost and expense whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from the use of the prize money or from the consequences of participation in $1 Million Dollar Hole in One Contest.
17. The name of the Finalist will be available by calling 336-438-2027, during normal business hours, posted on the website and printed in the Times-News after the conclusion of the contest.
18. The Contest Steering Committee has the right to reschedule the Play-off Rounds depending on weather and crowd conditions, or access to the course. A tentative rain date has been scheduled for Sunday Oct. 31, 2010.
19. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of individual Contest and Door Prize Winner(s). Winners will be required to sign an IRS form W9 Contest. Winner(s) will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, and Release indemnification and liability/publicity release within ten days of notification. In the event of noncompliance with any of the above conditions
(within this time period, the winning proceeds will be forfeited delete and an alternate winner will be selected No winner will be named. No compensation will be given.
