Golf Ball Drop "Fore" Education Contest Rules
1. The “Golf Ball Drop "Fore" Education” is presented for the benefit of (i) Alamance Citizens for Education(ACE), a charitable organization under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and (ii) Newspaper in Education (the “Presenters”).
2. For an entry fee of ($10 for one ball / $25 for 3 balls / $50 for 7 balls) each Participant will be entered into the Golf Ball Drop “Fore” Education to take place October, 30, 2010 at Randy’s Golf Center & Range, in Burlington, NC(i.e. The “Contest”). Participants may purchase as many golf balls as they wish based on the prices stated above.
3. The Golf Ball Drop “Fore” Education entry form must be filled out completely and submitted to the Presenters by 8:30 AM October 30, 2010. Each entry requires the Participant’s name, address, phone and e-mail address. Entry forms are available at (i) GolfBallDrop.com, (ii) Randy’s Golf Center & Range, and (iii) Times-News. Entries may also be submitted by phone with credit card information by calling (336)438-2027.
4. Each Participant will be assigned consecutively numbered golf ball(s) and will receive written verification via e-mail of their number(s).
5. On October 30, 2010, the golf balls will be simultaneously dropped from a hot air balloon tethered over Randy’s Golf Center & Range and remains to begin the Contest.
6. The participant(s) who purchased the number corresponding to the numbered golf ball that is dropped enters and remains in the target hole will be the Contest Winner(s). Should multiple balls land in the target hole the prize money will be equally divided among multiple Winners. In the event that no ball enters and remains in the target hole, the ball closest to the target hole will be named the Winner after a distance measurement is conducted by an independent third party. If more than one golf ball measures identically closest to the target hole in the event no golf ball enters and remains in the target hole, then the prize money will again be equally divided among multiple Winners.
7. The Contest Winner(s) will receive 20% of proceeds up to $5,000. A Contest Winner(s) is defined as the Participant(s) whose name appears on the entry form corresponding to the numbered golf ball that is dropped, enters and remains in the target hole or measures closest to the target hole in the event no ball enters and remains in the target hole.
8. The odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received.
9. All golf balls entered in the Contest will be provided by the Presenters and shall remain the property of the Presenters.
10. If for any reason beyond the control of the Presenters (such as weather conditions), the Presenters determine not to conduct the golf ball drop on October 30, 2010, the Presenters reserve the right to re-schedule the ball drop within 30 days. The current rain date is set for Sunday Oct 31, 2010.
11. The Contest Winner will be announced immediately following the golf ball drop and need not be present to win. The name of the Contest Winner(s) will be published in the Times-News and posted on the GolfBall Drop.com web site.
12. Participants who purchase one or more golf balls will be entered into drawings for a limited number of door prizes. Door prize winners will be selected at random through drawings. Door prize winners will be contacted by e-mail. Door prize winners are responsible for delivery or pick up of their prize within thirty days if not present at the drawing.
13. By entering Golf Ball Drop “Fore” Education, the Participants consent, without limitation or additional compensation, to the use of their names, voice, photograph, likeness and /or entry form information for advertising and/or trade purposes, except where prohibited by law.
14. Each participant releases, discharges, indemnifies, and holds harmless ACE, Times-News, Randy’s Golf Center and Range, sponsors and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, loss, harm, injury, damage, cost and expense whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from the use of the prize or participation in the Contest.
15. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of individual Contest and Door Prize Winner(s). Winners will be required to sign an IRS form W9 Contest. Winner(s) will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, and Release indemnification and liability/publicity release within ten days of notification. In the event of noncompliance with any of the above conditions (within this time period, the winning proceeds will be forfeited delete and an alternate winner will be selected No winner will be named.
